2021 – 2022 Academic Year

Wah`-Shă Academy is committed to both excellence and access. Through the school’s Tuition Lock initiative, innovative Resource Based Tuition program, merit scholarship opportunities,  payment plans and sibling discounts, an independent school education may be within reach for your student.

Tuition Lock initiative: (Currently in place) TheTuition Lock Initiative allows current families that re-enroll by March 15 (2021: July 15) to avoid annual increases in tuition. This is our way of honoring current families for their commitment to an education at Wah`-Shă Academy. Tuition lock allows families to plan for the future, and is part of our strategic plan to bolster enrollment and retain mission-minded students and families.  

• Tuition lock remains steadfast for the family’s entire enrollment in one program (early education, Primary, Middle School)
• When a student moves to the next level, Families may apply for Resource Based Tuition, or agree on a proportionate fee to the prior level’s tuition rate + inflation based on the previous six month’s average inflation rate. 

Resource-Based Tuition:  This is a move away from the traditional flat-rate approach of tuition to an innovative model for determining the tuition investment for every student based on the needs of both the school and the family.  This approach sets tuition for each student within a known range, attainable for the family.

Merit Scholarships: (Currently in place)  Wah`-Shă Academy holds an annual fundraiser from which our scholarship fund, teacher’s bonuses, and classroom supplies will receive funds.  We are also hard at work seeking annual donors who want to invest in our community’s education.

Sibling Discount (currently in place):

• Oldest Child: Full tuition
• Second Child: 2.5% tuition discount
• Third Child: 5.0% tuition discount
• Fourth Child: 7.5% tuition discount

Non-refundable Deposit: *Deposit is due upon the submission of your enrollment contract and is deducted from gross tuition.

Payment Plan:

*Based on your Total Tuition AFTER scholarships, discounts and deposits have been deducted AND submitted.  Deposits NOT submitted by the due date will incur an administrative fee of 2.8%.

• Annual (no fee) – Due August 15
• Two, Three, and Ten yearly payment plans between August-May. (Includes 1.4%, 2%, 2.3% fee, and currently no administration fees)

Tuition Obligation Policy: Pre-payments of tuition are 100% refundable, less the deposit, prior to August 15, 2021. NO REFUNDS WILL BE MADE AFTER August 15, 2021. The school’s expenses are fixed well in advance of the school year and therefore, the parents’ obligation to pay the tuition and fees for the full academic year is absolute, unconditional, and non-refundable after August 15, 2021. The school cannot refund tuition or cancel unpaid obligations if your child chooses or is forced to withdraw during the academic year.

Fees

Registration Fee: $375

(Optional for Kindergarten Students)

This fee goes directly to West River Academy with whom Wah`-Shă Academy enrolls its students for the service of school transcripts until we are fully accredited, within five years’ time.

Materials Fee:  $50

This fee is for 1st – 4th Graders who will be expected to maintain responsibility for their own school supplies.
